HORSEPOWER

HORSEPOWER

Boudet's sculptural installation reimagines a familiar image from history the horse-drawn chariot. Where four horses once carried a carriage, four motorcycles now support a car, creating a contemporary reinterpretation of power, movement, and cultural evolution.

The piece plays with the concept of horsepower itself what was once a literal measure of animal strength has become a metaphor embedded in automotive engineering. Here, the mechanical "horses" reclaim that term, echoing the historical origins of the word while celebrating the machines that replaced the animal.

Unveiled at Ultrace Germany, where vehicles are admired for their performance and design, the installation transforms the narrative of speed into a visual metaphor connecting past and present, from horse-drawn carriages to modern engines, from living horsepower to mechanical horsepower.

Commissioned by Ultrace and powered by Reinmeister.
